Rivers Holly Pendant

Designer's Note:

For this miniature version of our signature pendant, I was inspired by exposed pipes in New York City's interior architecture.  Grit and glamor contrast each other in this tube-shaped piece accented with oculus open spaces and by sprinkled Montana sapphires, placed on every side so they can be seen however the pendant turns. The dainty piece pairs with an adjustable length chain that can be slipped through any opening to be worn horizontally, vertically, off-kilter, and at any length (up to 18''). This makes the piece perfect for layering and is a part of my daily jewels.

This piece was designed for the Reciprocity exhibition at New York City Jewelry Week 2024.

• Artist statement on the Reciprocity Rivers Collection: Sometimes we feel like we are powerless to create change, as if we are only a drop in the ocean. But when we collaborate, our single drops combine, creating rivers that flow into oceans of possibility. Each blue Montana sapphire represents the water drops that come together on these pieces of set textured gold, whose hammer-strikes symbolize the ripples of a river. They evoke the flowing movement of water as well as the movement of responsible jewelry. These jewels are tokens of hope and reminders of the power that lies within each of us.
