Allison Dishta is a contemporary and distinguished Native American woman jewelry artist from the Zuni tribe, which has been recorded back to 700 AD. Located in central New Mexico and Northern Arizona, the Zuni are a Pueblo Indian tribe. Traditionally the Zuni have held a sacred connection to the land, and base many of their designs from the elements of their surroundings. Noted for their artisinal artistry, inlay is one of the most common styles of jewelry making, as the process is very complex. The Zuni 'Sunface' is a tribute to the Father, the sun, and the balance between night and day. With onyx, turquoise, coral and mother of pearl and signed in her notable signature, A.
